Science Workshop at Okyanus College
On December 10, 2024, as the METU Optics and Photonics Society, we had the pleasure of visiting Okyanus College for an engaging science workshop!
Together with 5th and 7th-grade students, we conducted hands-on experiments on pressure, gravity, electric circuits, and thin lenses, making science both interactive and fun. Additionally, we held an exam preparation seminar for 8th-grade students, providing valuable insights to support their academic journey.
We sincerely thank Okyanus College for their warm hospitality and the meaningful plaque they presented to us. It was a wonderful experience to connect with young science enthusiasts!

On December 8, 2023, as the METU Optics and Photonics Society, we had an incredible time at the Science Days event, hosted by ODTÜ Geliştirme Vakfı Schools! 🎉

Optical System Design with ZEMAX: A Six-Week Journey
As the METU Optics and Photonics Society, we successfully completed our six-week Optical System Design Workshop under the guidance of Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bingül, starting on December 4, 2023. Participants gained hands-on experience with Zemax, exploring key topics such as lens design, aberration control, and system optimization.
This interactive, team-based workshop allowed attendees to apply theoretical knowledge to real-world optical problems, enhancing both their technical skills and industry understanding.
We sincerely thank Prof. Dr. Ahmet Bingül for his mentorship and all participants for their dedication. Our journey in optical system design continues—stay tuned for more!
